We are currently booking 2-3 weeks in advance.  Please keep this in mind when planning your event.  We recommend at least 4 - 6 weeks notice on all Wedding Cakes.

** Please be aware that we do not accept email or voicemail cake orders to ensure accuracy and availability orders must be placed in person or with a bakery manager over the phone. Please call us during business hours to order your cake at 847-235-2498.

Pricing Breakdowns

Our minimum for Wedding Cakes is $200.

Most of our cakes cost between $3.50 and $12 per serving depending on flavors, design and decorations.  Side cakes can be purchased at $3 per serving for most flavors.

Fake Cakes (4 Tiers) can also be custom designed starting at $175, these are often a more budget friendly solution and can be accompanied by side cakes for service or stand alone.

Sculpted cakes start at $175 and require no less than 7 days notice.


  We take cake orders on a first come first serve basis. ALL Wedding cakes we require a non-refundable 25% deposit to hold a date.    All Wedding cakes must be paid in full 14 days prior to the date.  Late Fees may be assessed (typically 25% of the balance due), however cakes that are not paid in full one week prior to the event will be cancelled.  Delivery is available for all tiered cakes for free within 20 miles.  Outside of the 20 mile range, we charge $25 delivery fee.  We do not deliver small cakes or sheet cakes unless they require on-site assembly.

 Our tastings typically run about an hour.  We will prepare a selection of cakes, fillings and icing for you to try and discuss your theme and vision for your event.  Here are some of our frequently asked questions.

  • How many choices should I give?  We recommend 3-4 cakes, and 2-4 fillings and icings.
  • What does a tasting cost? A tasting costs $30 which is required to hold the time slot, however if you purchase your cake with us, we will apply that to your total cost.
  • Can I cancel or re-schedule? Yes, however they must be cancelled/re-scheduled at least 48 hours prior to your tastingin order to get a refund on the tasting fee. Re-scheduled tastings will be re-scheduled for the next available date.  Any re-schedule less than 48 hours prior will require a $15 re-scheduling fee. 
  • What happens if I am late to my tasting appointment? If you are a little late that is not a problem, however please call us and let us know you will be late.  Anything more than 15 minutes may need to be re-scheduled for the next available date in some cases.
  • How many people can I bring? Up to 4 people.  When you schedule please be sure to let us know ho many people will be attending.
  • What should I bring? Any pictures you like.  Color swatches if you have a specific color theme.  A list of questions if you have any.  When it comes to pictures bring in anything you like, this will help us get a feel for the styles you prefer.
  • The groom can't make it, can we take some samples home?  Yes, we box your samples at the end of the consult so others can weigh in and also for you to try at your leisure.
  • Can I make changes once we place the order? Yes, we expect counts to change once RSVP come in.  As along as we have 14 days notice you can change the count up or down.  Some fees may apply if the count goes up drastically or you will be credited if the count decreases considerable as well. Minor changes are accepted until 7 days prior to the event.
  • Do you do fondant work? Yes.
  • Is there a deposit needed? Yes, $75 (non-refundable) to hold the date and 25% down on orders under $400 or 50% on orders above $400. Rush orders must be paid in full on the day they are ordered (less than two weeks to the event) if we have availability.  
  • When does the balance need to be paid? The balance is due 14 days prior to the event.  We take cash, in state checks and Visa/MC/Discover
  • What happens if the balance due is not paid on time?  We frequently have a wait list for Weddings, if you do not pay the balance 14 days prior then you order is subject to cancellation.  So, please be sure to mark your calendar!
  • Do you deliver and is there a fee? We deliver to the North Shore at no charge.  Downtown Chicago is a $30 delivery and set up fee.
  • What if we need to cancel? If you need to cancel you will receive a partial refund.  The amount of the refund is determined by the event date and materials ordered.
  • How do I set up a tasting?  You may call (847)235-2498 or email cakes@wildflourlakebluff.com to check availability. Once a date is determined we will fax or email our tasting and consultation form. Once it is completed and returned with the tasting fee ($30), we will block off the time slot for you.
  • How much time should we allow for cake orders? For weddings we recommend at least 4 weeks, however to guarantee your date is available we encourage you to book your cake order 8-12 weeks.  We do have a wait list for dates that are already booked if your date is unavailable.
